An ecosystem we study — a living landscape

Our Process.

The Cycle

Everything we create moves through three connected disciplines. Each informs the next, shaping products considered in both function and form, while simultaneously building a transparent culture of sharing and education.

01

Research & Formulation.

Study how plants, fungi and other organisms adapt to a unique Cornish environmental stressors, then translate those adaptive strategies into multifunctional formulas, that are easy to use and simple to stick to.

02

Design.

Develop a distinct visual identity for each item paying homage to Cornwall's unique character. Each our formulas are accompanied with an intentional scent and aesthetic design to make it a pleasure to return to.

03

Education.

Build an open culture of education, transparency, and collaboration; sharing our methods, decisions, and learning while growing a community around knowledge, craft, and care.

With Cornwall at the epicentre, we study how life adapts to its unique environment, translating those insights into multifunctional formulations and designs that pay homage to its uncompromising character .

How we formulate

Cornwall’s plants, fungi and seaweeds have evolved to withstand salt, wind, exposure and changing conditions. Hugo studies these adaptations and selects carefully researched bioactives to inform formulations designed to support the skin’s own resilience.

Rather than building products around a single problem, we formulate for multiple functions at once; hydration, barrier function and everyday resilience within the same step.

We favour lightweight, water-soluble formats that work comfortably with the skin and are easy to use consistently. Mists are the clearest expression of that approach: multifunctional skincare, delivered simply.

How we Design

Our design language pays homage to Cornwall’s distinct character; its coastline, changing light, mineral tones and maritime identity. Bloom takes soft coastal blue from sea and sky, while Shade moves into a deeper twilight navy inspired by Cornwall darker coves.

Sophie and Freddie approach each product with the same attention to scent, form and finish as fine fragrance. Not decoration for its own sake, but to create something beautiful enough to live outside the bathroom cabinet; visible, desirable and easy to return to every day.
